What does deleting a stock item do?

From time to time you may want to flag stock items as deleted, not this does not delete the item so the history remains intact, this also allows you to re-instate the item is required. So what exactly doe it do?

In Ramsys Central

In Ramsys Central deleting a stock item will set the deleted flag, you will clearly see and item is deleted on the stock screen, It will also set the reorder type to discontinue. You will not be able to order stock for this item but all history will remain intact.

If the item is in a POS keyboard it will be removed.

In the POS

When Ramsys receives a deleted stock notification it will:

• Check if it has a Qty onhand, if so it will flag the item as deleted but allow sales and other adjustments - this allows the store to bleed it out. It will not allow receipts of the item unless there is orders in process.
• Check if there is any historical transactions (Sales/Transfers etc), if not the item will be fully deleted.
