Deleting Stock Items


When you delete stock items in Central they will not actually be deleted but rather flagged as deleted. In this way the items history remains intact and you may reinstate the item by using the delete button again (deleting a deleted item reinstates it with full history intact). You may also enquire upon the history in Central as with any other item.


In the POS

When the deletion arrives at the POS it will be fagged as deleted, as a deleted item it will follow these rules.

  • Staff cannot receive stock for deleted items.
  • If the quantity on hand is not zero, staff can still sell the item.
  • If the quantity on hand is zero, the item cannot be sold.
  • Adjustments and stocktakes can still be made on deleted items.


The stock item, along with its history, remains accessible in the POS. Once all sales records are archived (based on your history settings), the POS will remove the deleted item physically. However, the item will still be retained in Central.
