Customer Master – Account / Layby Customers
The Customer Master screen allows you to manage all essential information for individual customers, including Account and Layby customers. This screen forms the core of customer setup, tracking, and account management in Ramsys.
Account customers are businesses or individuals who purchase goods on credit and settle their balance later. These are flagged with Account Type = "C" (Credit Account), and can have transactions like sales, payments, and journals applied to their balance.
Layby customers may pay off goods over time before collection. These are flagged with Account Type = "L" (Layby Account). While the screen is shared, Layby-specific settings are typically driven by sales processing rules, not fields on this screen.
Using this screen, you can:
Set credit terms
Track balances and payments
View customer performance and transaction history
Manage contact and delivery details

🔹 Notes for Account / Layby Use
Transactions (sales, payments, journals) will affect the Balance field.
Account customers must have payments applied regularly via the Take Payment option or the Transactions section.
Reports like Account/Layby Report or Debtor Movement can be used to monitor outstanding balances and customer performance.
