Min/Max Processing – Automated Stock Reordering

Min/Max ordering is an automated inventory control method used to ensure optimal stock levels across your business. It reduces manual workload while helping prevent both stock-outs and overstocking.

What Is Min/Max?

Each stock item can be assigned two key thresholds:

Minimum Level (Min): The lowest acceptable quantity before reordering should occur.

Maximum Level (Max): The ideal stock level to restore to when reordering is triggered.

When the system detects that an item's current stock on hand (or available stock) has fallen below the Min, a purchase order suggestion is automatically created to replenish the item back up to the Max.

Best Use Case

Min/Max ordering is ideal for:

Fast-moving products with predictable demand.

Consumables that need consistent replenishment.

Core inventory lines that must never run out.

Manual controlled environments, Where supervisors wish to control stock-levels manually but process automatically.

How It Works

Set Min/Max Levels per item.

Enable Reorder Type = Auto for the item.

When processing runs, the system:

Checks current inventory against Min.

Calculates the quantity needed to reach Max.

Generates a suggested order.

Note: Only items with Reorder Type = Auto will be included in Min/Max processing.

Enterprise Customers

Min/Max levels are centrally managed via the cloud-based Ramsys Central system. This allows group-level control over branch-specific ordering behaviour.
