Pay Account/Layby
Receiving an Account/Layby Payment
This screen allows you to receive payments against Account Sales or Laybys. You can receive part or full payment and split it across multiple payment types.
Navigate to:
POS Menu ➝ Operations ➝ Receive Account/Layby Payment
Fields and Controls
Field |
Description |
Account/Layby Number |
Enter the account number and press Enter to retrieve the customer details. If new, press Enter with a blank field to add a new account. |
Customer Name |
Automatically filled once the account number is validated. |
Phone Number |
Displayed for customer reference. |
Account Type |
‘C’ for charge account, ‘L’ for layby. |
Balance |
Displays the current amount owing on the account. |
Amount to Receive |
Enter the total amount being paid by the customer. |
Payment Type |
Select the payment method (e.g., Cash, Eftpos, Credit Card, Voucher, etc). |
Amount |
Enter the amount for this payment method. |
Split Payments
You can split the total amount being received across different payment types. For example:
Cash: $100
Eftpos: $200
Voucher: $50
These will be shown in the Amount Due list (middle grid).
You must ensure the sum of all entered payment lines equals the Amount to Receive before finalising the transaction.
Finalising the Payment
Once all payment types have been entered and the total matches the Amount to Receive, the payment will process.
A receipt will be printed, and the account balance updated accordingly.
Notes
If you overpay, the system will place the account in credit.
Partial payments are accepted – the remaining balance will carry forward.
Payments are logged against the account and visible in the customer’s transaction history.
