Importance of End of Day
Why is the End of Day process important?
While performing an end-of-day is not mandatory, it is highly recommended as it will maintain the system in top order, both Ramsys & windows.
- Ramsys can be set to produce desired reports upon end of day - Banking is one such report.
- It can also be set to load the Enter Banking's screen to allow you to balance the till. This data in Enterprise will be sent to Head Office.
- The end of day will signal the communicator it can perform maintenance tasks which cannot be done while the POS is in use.
- Record the weather for the day, this is invaluable for analysis.
- Settle the EftPOS.
- Allocate customer RFM Rankings.
- Backup.
- Database optimisation.
- Checking for updates.
- Checking Windows and the POS PC for any issues that may cause problems at a later date.
Ramsys is transnational so skipping the End of Day will not cause reporting issues. Repeatedly not running this process however could result in the system slowing down and possible data loss in the case of PC failure
